A Character Analysis of Nora in Ibsens A Dolls House It is a general consensus that women exercise more than one role after they are married and have a family. These roles include wife, mother, chauffeur, and nurse. In A Dolls House, Nora is given many roles to play and, though some of the above are included, she also plays the role of child, friend, confidante, and manipulator. But the greatest feat that she accomplishes is her star performance as doting daughter and implemental spouse. Nora has been acting out a role to fit everyones expectations of her since she was a small child. When I was home with Daddy, he told me all his opinions, and so they became my options too.
